Thanks, BOB, as usual, a very good, and very eclectic double compilation! I like particularly the gospel quartet/groups, in the first disc! But on the second disc, there is a lot of rarities, and alawys some authentic blues or R&B!

& merry Christmas for you and your family
Hi Monsieur Jujube, yes I like my compilations to be eclectic, always great music and lots of variety...keeps things interesting. And a very merry Christmas to you and your family as well.
DeleteCan't go wrong with Jimmy Reed and LaVern Baker on there!! Thanks, Mike.
ReplyDeleteJimmy Reed was a strange one Mike, one of the most influential bluesmen of all time, yet rather limited as a guitar player, as a harp player, and as a singer. Like Elmore James he found his niche and stuck with it never wandering far from his successful formulae.
