Great collection of railroad tunes. Thanks! Are you familiar with Jimmie Rodgers ('The Singing Brakeman')? He did some great stuff as well. (And yodelled, too!)
ReplyDeleteHi Mike, glad you enjoyed this. It's part 2 of a country trains & railway collection, the first part I posted last week. And Jimmie Rodgers...sure, one of the greatest legends of old country music, I'm not sure if I've featured him on any compilations so far, so I'll consider him for upcoming collections.
DeleteGreat!

DeleteThanks Bob, nice to see Bill Haley and the Comets thrown in there. Mike.
ReplyDeleteHi Mike, yes, I guess many people think of Bill Haley as rock & roll, but of course he was a successful and well recorded country singer way before R&R.
DeleteThanks Bob, love train songs.
ReplyDeleteHi Ted, yes trains featured well in both country music and blues.
DeleteThanks Bob! Almost to a 100
