 The Daily Chat

A chatbox where we can post comments and have discussions on artists & songs. However, if you just want to say thank you for a particular post then please continue using the usual comment box located below each post.

Just want to let you all know that Bob's Basement is now running well. We had some recent disruptions with the basement as we tried out various formats but all has been sorted now and there are lots of good things being shared in there. So hop in and check it out. Apart from the albums you'll see posted in the main basement there are loads of links tucked away in the comments as well, so don't forget to have a rummage through the comment sections too.

Three more compilations for you today: Volume 63 in "Assorted 'Best Of' Blues & R&B Tracks" brings you: Rufus Thomas, Ike Turner, Muddy Waters, Fenton Robinson, Lazy Lester, Johnny Otis, Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, and a few other greats of blues and R&B.

"The Very Best Of Rhythm And Blues, Raw Blues And Soul Music Volume 35" is the final volume in this popular series. And closing it in fine style are: Otis Redding, Arthur Conley, Ike & Tina Turner, The Holmes Brothers, Jimmy Rogers, Bobby Rush, Memphis Slim, and other outstanding blues/R&B/soul performers. Replacing this series is another similar series titled "Blues, R&B, Soul & Gospel Records", which continues with primarily black American blues/R&B music, with some odd things thrown into the mix from time to time to add to the variety.

And "The Best Of Country, Pre-War & Acoustic Blues Volume 55" today focuses on the Jug & Washboard Bands, with tracks from The Mississippi Sheiks, The Memphis Jug Band, Washboard Sam, Gus Cannon's Jug Stompers, Dave Van Ronk & The Ragtime Jug Stompers, Tampa Red's Hokum Jug Band, Jim Kweskin & The Jug Band, The Even Dozen Jug Band, plus a few other jug band greats.

As always my friends dig in and enjoy the fine music shared here. Don't forget to post a comment now and then letting me know how you're getting along and what you're enjoying most. Same goes for the guys posting away in Bob's Basement, they are sharing some mighty good music, download whatever you like but take a minute or two to thank them for their time and generosity.
