Thanks Bob. Mike. Man i would hate to have gone thru life with a nickname like "Fathead" never heard of him before and i always like to get new to me Music!! ๐๐
ReplyDeleteHi Mike, yes some of the bluesmen's nicknames were far from flattering. There's a drummer known as Beedy Eyes, there was a Crapeye, Big Walter Horton was also known as Mumbles. There were many more like this.
DeleteWow, I wonder why it seems peculiar to the blues side of music that they have have these types of Nicknames' or am i missing all the others? I should Google Blues Nicknames' and see what comes up.๐ค๐
ReplyDeleteThey seem to focus on afflictions more in blues/black culture than other genres. There are all those blind blues singers who's names are prefixed with blind, likewise cripples.
DeleteGood choice for this "Blues, R&B, Soul & Gospel Records Vol 41"
ReplyDeleteThank you Bob
Many thanks Bob!! (^-^*)/
