There was a recent mix up with the order of "Blues, R&B, Soul & Gospel Records". Last post should have Vol 81 but I posted Vol 82 by mistake, anyway here today is Vol 81, and the next post in 2-3 days time will resume with Vol 83.
The very popular "Assorted Hillbilly & Country Recordings", now up to Volume 123, today brings you another "Bluegrass Special" titled "The Banjo Boy Spectacular". Among the many artists featured in this fine collection are The Stanley Brothers, Molly Tuttle, Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt, Bela Fleck, Del McCoury, The Goins Brothers, and Fairport Convention.
And here's one more in my "Albums That Deserve Another Listen" series. This time Long John Baldry's 1971 classic "It Ain't Easy" which featured Long John accompanied by a host of top British performers such as Elton John, Ron Wood, Sam Mitchell, Maggie Bell, Mickie Waller and many others. If you haven't heard this album before then you're in for a treat. Long John Baldry was one of the best British blues singers, and on this album he was in excellent form, as were all the supporting musicians.
As always my friends dig in and enjoy the fine music.
TYVM Bob
ReplyDeleteHi Ballas, not sure if you've seen it but I made a suggestion in your recent comments regarding that Johnnie Taylor single.
