 ALBUMS THAT DESERVE ANOTHER LISTEN

Bob Riedy's Chicago Blues Band

Bob Riedy's Blues Band was quite a big name in the mid-1970s, primarily as the band hosted many noted Chicago bluesmen, such as Carey Bell, Johnny Young, Eddy Clearwater, Johnny Littlejohn, Jimmy Rogers, and Magic Slim, who were accompanied by assorted young white musicians, like Bob Riedy himself who played piano. The band recorded 2 officially released albums:  Lake Michigan Ain't No River (1973) and Just Off Halsted (1974). In addition two double-set live albums recorded at various venues throughout the 1970s appeared, and as far as I'm aware that is the entire available catalog of the Bob Riedy Blues Band, though Bob Riedy did play as a sideman on several blues albums for various labels.

Sometime during the mid 1970s I began corresponding with Bob Riedy, we exchanged letters for a couple of years and I found Bob to be a very friendly and helpful guy. He often filled in gaps in my own blues research, as I was writing for magazines at the time, and he sent me a lot of promotional material such as photos, flyers, gig posters.

Anyway, there was a request for Bob Riedy's Blues Band albums on another blog, and as I had these 4 albums in my collection I filled that request, and as I usually do after filling any request, I also share the albums here on my own blog.

Albums 1,2,3 are 320kbps, and the 4th album is 256kbps. There are links to download the albums individually, or if preferred all 4 in one download.
