A beautiful cover of Dylan's “Highway 61,” written in 1965 after he switched to electric guitar. Dylan was disillusioned by the critics... I'm currently reading Jonathan Cott's book of interviews with Bob Dylan (1962–2004), which also explains “Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues” and the climate of the time in 1965, after his transition from acoustic to electric after Newport... But really beautiful live performance by Wendy Saddington, I didn't know it. Thank you Bob.
Hi Patrick, yes Wendy was a huge talent, unfortunately she did too much acid in the 1970s and flipped out and became Hare Krisna. She was very influenced by Nina Simone.

DeleteThank you very much, Bob, for this wonderful version, which I didn't know and also performed by an outstanding voice.
ReplyDeleteHi Concha, yes Wendy had an amazing range. I once played some of her songs for a Thai female singer and she was gobsmacked.
DeleteThanks for intro to Wendy
ReplyDeleteEnjoy RMstorm. I do have some albums by Wendy so I may well post some more soon.
