A correction to my earlier post that this blog will be switching entirely to FLAC.
When FLAC files began appearing on the music sharing blogs some years ago I wasn't at all interested. I was more than happy with MP3, especially at 320kbps. I don't listen to music on expensive sound systems. Mostly I listen via a thumb drive in my car stereo, or on my laptop. Furthermore, the larger FLAC file sizes just meant more data usage for downloads, longer wait times for downloads to complete, and more backup storage requirements.
More recently however I've been downloading FLAC and noticing a discernible difference in audio quality. Plus with better internet connections along with unlimited data plans, the disadvantages of FLAC have vanished and FLAC has now become my preferred audio file format.
As I've mentioned several times in the past I make up these compilations in batches well in advance, and some of the batches I'm currently putting together are now FLAC files, these will start appearing on the blog early in 2026. Whenever possible compilations will be in FLAC, however, with the compilations that deal with old historical recordings, such as much of the hillbilly and pre-war country blues, then those compilations will remain in MP3-320.

Well I made a great stuff up of the last posting. As I've mentioned before I make everything up in batches and keep these batches inside folders on my hard drive, and when it's time for another post I pull the next one out of the folder. Anyway, I have no idea what happened last post, other than my mind must have been elsewhere.
Blues, R&B, Soul & Gospel Records: this should have been Vol 122, but instead of taking the next in line from the current batch I mistakenly pulled the next in line from the next batch folder, which happened to be Vol 151. Anyway, not a big deal. The next post in a day or two will be Blues, R&B, Soul & Gospel Records Vol 122, and will continue up to Vol 150, then jump to Vol 152, as you already have Vol 151.
The next balls-up I made was Country, Pre-War & Acoustic Blues. There were six volumes left in that folder, Vols 80-86, and I should have posted Vol 80, but for some reason I took one from the bottom instead of the top and mistakenly posted Vol 86. Again, no big deal, next post in the Country, Pre-War & Acoustic Blues series will be Vol 80, and will continue to Vol 85, then jump to Vol 87 as you already have Vol 86.
Anyway my friends dig in and enjoy!
