A Message To All The People Who Download From The Music Blogs But Never Say Thank You
Today I downloaded an album from one of the many music sharing blogs I visit, and as usual left a brief comment saying thank you, then lo and behold 30 minutes later there was an email from the blog owner giving me the link to a rare live bootleg from his private stash.
Also some time ago on another blog I frequently visit and download many jazz albums (and always leave a comment saying thanks) unexpectedly I was sent a Blogger invite to a private blog where jazz aficionados share rare albums. I had no idea this blog even existed but by leaving comments saying thanks I got noted by this private group and invited into their circle.
So you see, by remaining silent and just taking, never saying thanks, you actually do yourselves a disservice. Because when you lurk silent in the background nobody ever gets to know your name, or gets to know what your tastes are, so you get left behind when new things happen or blogs suddenly go private for whatever reason.
This a great point Bob, when I opened my private reggae site, I posted about it only on a couple of sites, and then asked the owners of these sites, what they knew about people wanting to join mine, and all the blog owners came back with what they knew.
ReplyDeleteSo it just goes to show adding a comments is not only courtesy but can bring you rewards, many of the private sites I am or have been a member of I got an invite from the owner when they went private, because I had commented on their blog.
With that particular blog I mentioned yesterday, on his current page there are 30 albums (I didn't bother to check his older posts) all have been downloaded many times and only one person made a comment saying thanks. That was me. But because I took a few seconds to say thanks he emailed me a great rare live concert from 1968.

Je n'ai aucune excuse valable, à part la flemme d'écrire. J'ai bien conscience qu'un remerciement ou des remerciements sont agréables. Donc je vous remercie pour les musiques passées et celles à venir. Ne m'en veuillez pas, si je n'écris pas souvent, mais le coeur y est.
