Thank you Bob for another volume of this fine series. I had a chance to see Conway Twitty (may he rest in peace) and he was pretty good. A lot of people don't realize that he started out as a rock & roll singer.
ReplyDeleteHi Done4it, glad you enjoy the compilation. Yes, Conway Twitty was a big early Southern rock & roller. He was born in Friars Point, Mississippi, which is named in the Robert Johnson song "Traveling Riverside Blues". Anyway, it must have been good to see Conway live.
DeleteThanx Bob. I saw a Harold Lloyd Jenkins interview ... errrrr Conway Twitty, when he uttered a TRUE Statement. "A Rock Singer has a career lifespan of 2 weeks. A Country audience will stay with you for a lifetime."
ReplyDeleteHi moze, interesting comments. I guess many rock & rollers were flash in the pans.
DeleteThanks for this Bob, more than a few of my favorite Early Rockabilly singers are here including Elvis of course and Carl. Mike.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoy it Mike.
