  2. Thanx Bob for #71 (Every time I see Bill Parsons as an Artist I think of the story where he got his name accidently on Bobby Bare's "All American Boy.")

  5. Brief story on Bill Parsons. He was Bobby Bare's friend. On the eve of joining the Army Bobby Bare cut an acetate demo of "All American Boy." His friend Bill Parsons hawked the record around Local Radio Stations (I think in Cincinnati)... because Bill Parsons signed the demo package for Radio Station's secretary, they saw Parson's name when the song was played and became popular. The Record company recorded the artist's name as Bill Parsons. Bobby Bare was stationed in Germany and while listening to a German Radio Station heard his song sung for the first time with Bill Parson getting all the credit. ... and BTW, Bill Parsons did have a singing career in his own right... even a duet album with Bobby Bare.
