Are any of you good people having issues with MEGA? I've always found MEGA to be a bit temperamental, but recently I've been having nothing but headaches trying to d/l anything using MEGA links. Mostly the d/l hangs, usually at 99%. Everything I d/l using MEGA takes 2 or 3 attempts before I get it, sometime a reboot is needed. I'm d/l things from various sites daily using many different file hosts, and everything is fine with all the others. So how about the rest of you, are you also experiencing similar issues with MEGA?

  2. Hi Bob, I have noticed this lately in a couple of downloads but not as a general behavior, maybe it is getting worse...

  3. Yep, exactly the same experience.

  4. Hi Bob, the same thing was happening to me, but it was a long, long time ago. I opened a free account (back when they still gave you 50 GB, not like now with 20 GB), and like Mike says, jdownloader doesn't usually give you any problems.
    Cheers

  5. Hi Bob, To me, Mega is the gold standard. I haven't had any problems with it. Of the other newer services out there, Pixel Drain also seems excellent. Jim

  6. Hi Bob -- For what it's worth, Mega has been working fine for me (with or without the extra "assist" from Jdownloader). Now, I do sometimes run into problems using certain OTHER services, but that's a different story!

  7. I use MegaDownloader manager. It limits downloads to 4-5 times, depending on the size of the file. The next day is fine!

  8. No problems from my end, working fine. Although I have noticed that some of the downloaders don't work well from some VPN locations - if I connect to Hong Kong, for example, they often don't work, or if I connect through TOR network then Pixeldrain usually won't work as so many people are using the same VPN location.
Maybe try a different VPN location?

  9. Just the opposite experience for me Bob. Mega has always been "ROCK SOLID'' for me .

  10. I've had an occasional issue with mega stopping at the 'decrypting' status. A simple page refresh has restarted the d/l from the beginning, but it finishes that second time. Personally, I find pixeldrain to be best these days. I do pay the 5 dollars per month for that service because I upload radio shows to several sites and keep them in pixel's cloud for a bit; with that I also get clean unlimited downloads without size or speed restrictions.

    1. The problem with Pixeldrain for free users is that it uses the dreaded recaptcha as part of its free download bandwidth limiting regime which is the ultimate anti download measure whilst not banning free downloading altogether.

  11. Bob,

I literally download dozens of mega files small and large using jdownloader everyday and apart from the data limit (of 2Gb) that is linked to IP address which means I have to switch VPN location regularly I don't have any problems. I don't know if there are any issues with manual downloads recently but the last time I uploaded to mega and tested it it worked fine.

  12. You used to be able to download 5 at a time without paying attention. Now you have to babysit each download. They do sometimes lock up at 99% and fail. Lately the browser fails at the end of the download but the download still goes through when you re-open the browser.

  13. Thanks for all your respnses so far, it appears that some of you are experiencing the same issues I have, and others not. I do have Jdownloaded but don't use it often as pretty well everything I d/l works very well (except MEGA) so I may start to use Jdownloader again with Mega. I have several VPNs but don't use them often either, except with some sites that make you wait an hour or two between d/ls (like Fichier) but I've found it's just as easy to reboot. Like some others here I've found Pixeldrain to be the best of the free hosts, the speeds are fast, I've never had a d/l hang, and the links stay active for ages, which is a big plus for the bloggers like me. Anyway, thanks again everyone for your feedback.

    1. Had no problems but after reading this a few days ago, yeah I have had issues, downloads seem to stick and you have to reload and start again. Or don't start at all, but will if you switch browser!! Pixeldrain for me is the best at the momment, I miss Zippyshare, always worked well for me, always had problems with Mediafire. Have problems with we transfer and go send at times. Bestfile is fast to upload and to download, but the servers have been down at least three times in the last two months.

    2. Bestfile servers were down again to day, but it's now working ok now. Will try a few more sites and maybe switch from Bestfile.

    3. I've tried several over the years with my own site, and at the moment Pixel is best, it doesn't really bother me that links run out after several months because everyone takes what they want as soon as it's posted, or within a few days. And for anyone coming along later I can always renew dead links.

    4. Yeah I tend to use pixel when posting flac and bestfile when it's 320, have a pcloud account and that works pretty well, so am going to use that as a back up for bestfile. Only 10GB max for free. I have a few mega accounts, have some stuff stored in them, and 3 that I use as sharing, with others knows the login details, so both can add files. Kraken seems to work well might open one there as well.
