  2. Thank you for another good one Bob. My favorite on this one hands down is #5 by the Silver Fox before he turned country. A great tune indeed!

    1. Hi Wayne, yes it's interesting how many of the early R&R guys moved across to country music when they got a bit older, I guess they had the country music in their blood.

  3. I remember Conway Twitty telling Ed Sullivan why he switched from Rock to Country: Conway said, "A Country Audience will follow you and be loyal for a Lifetime. A R&R Audience has the Life-span of a small insect."

  5. Bob Mac, this is a good collection. When I downloaded it I was afeared it was a set of songs to commit suicide to (or by), but I was wrong - some nicely sung stuff. Cheers for this.

    1. You're most welcome Terry, glad you enjoyed this set. Music to commit suicide, LOL...that was Leonard Cohen, he was the king of suicide music. I was never a big fan of Cohen but he did do some exceptional songs. The film of his performance at the Isle of Weight is really amazing how he pacified a riotous crowd.

    2. Bob, I just gotta say I was there on the Isle of Wight in 1970. Never seen so many in one place. I agree with you about Mr Cohen, he certainly calmed things down. I have vivid memories of the (I think!!) three days - particularly Emerson Lake and Palmer setting off a cannon which fired over our heads, John B Sebastian, Joni Mitchell and many many others. Ah, those heady days when I was a long-haired weekend hippy and part-time anarchist (working for the Civil Service during the week!!!). Good stuff, eh~~?
