Well the Aussie summer is over and it's time for us to head back to Thailand. We're flying off to Bangkok tomorrow (Friday) afternoon, and we'll be spending a few nights in Bangkok before going home, so there won't be any posts until next week.
Anyway, here are two interesting compilations for your listening pleasure: Volume 116 in Blues, R&B, Soul & Gospel Records, with 21 tracks dating from Cecil Gant's 1949 "God Bless My Daddy" to Larry Williams & Johnny Guitar Watson's 1976 recording "Too Late". Others featured here include: Big Joe Turner, Archie Bell & The Drells, Wynonie Harris, Jimmy Witherspoon, Edna McGriff, Curtis Mayfield, and New Orleans R&B vocal group The Spiders.
And the Best Of Jazz, now at Volume 91, today offers you the third volume in "A Handful Of Jazz Trombone Greats 1957-2024", putting the spotlight on Wycliffe Gordon, Slide Hampton, Michael Dease, Buddy Morrow, George Masso, and Ben Patterson, along with a few other noted trombonists.
As always my friends dig in and dig the great music, and don't forget to take a few seconds to post a comment letting me know what you're enjoying most. BTW: I've been getting a few anonymous thank you comments, please add a name, can be anything you like - Mojo Man, Atilla the Hun, Tinky Winky - it matters not but with a name I know when I'm communicating with one person, as opposed to dozens of anonymous people.
Good travel Bob
