ReplyDeleteYep, lots of old timers in that lot.
Deletesee the song "Unwed Fathers" in this one... luv'd that song when I first heard it by John Prine. - Thank You.
ReplyDeleteanother comment if I may... the Porter Wagoner/Merle Haggard is fantastic as I think Merle was still an up & coming unknown singer at that time.... and Sally Star (she hosted a kiddies show on local TV when I was growing up). Her sponsor was Fleer Bubble Gum and she went into the kiddies gallery to hand out some FREE gum (this is the days of "Live" TV.... one little kid says "My mommy won't let me chew gum. It puts holes in my teeth."
ReplyDeletethanks for your interesting comments moze, they are certainly welcome here.
DeleteMore great volumes! Is your goal 100 volumes?
ReplyDeleteHi Jim D, I can't remember how many in this current series, maybe 100, then it'll continue with a similar series with a slight change of name.
DeleteThank you Bob for more great tunes. Nice pic of George Jones too. I was in Vegas when he passed away and that night we went to a Tim NcGraw / Faith Hill concert and they were playing all George Jones music before the concert and Tim McGraw started out the show with He Stopped Loving Her Today and that's when we first found out that "The Possum" had passed away.
ReplyDeleteHi Done4it. Yes George was a strange one. I've heard the stories about him not showing up for appearances and driving his lawn mower to the bar. Anyway, glad you enjoyed the compilation.
