 The Daily Chat

A chatbox where we can post comments and have discussions on artists & songs. However, if you just want to say thank you for a particular post then please continue using the usual comment box located below each post.

Here's Assorted Blues, R&B, Gospel & Soul Recordings, now up to volume 62, with 21 great tracks from 1951 to 2019. Starting off is William Calhoun's funny & funky "Room 229 We Did The 69", followed by Travis Haddix, Larry Williams & Johnny Guitar Watson, The 5 Royales, then Lula Reed & Sonny Thompson with 2 mighty fine tracks "I'll Drown In My Tears" (1951) and "Caught Me When My Love Was Down" (1955). Lula Reed was fantastic, and in my opinion she was the best of her era. Continuing along are Lee Moses, Mickey Baker, Otis Redding, Larry McCray, and a few other fine artists.

Volume 30 in Assorted Best Of Jazz - "Nice Work If You Can Get It" today features Thelonious Monk, Roland Kirk, Red Mitchell, Dorothy Ashby, Tina Brooks, Oscar Peterson, Artie Shaw, Booker Little and several other jazz giants.

And a bonus for you all today. Some rocking blues all the way from South Africa that was kindly sent to me by member Maren Nkrumah. Fans of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin will enjoy this.

Finally, I've reintroduced the message box, where anyone can contact me directly to my GMail account, if you need to discuss anything or if you want to send me something, it's better to do so via the message box.

Anyway, I hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy the music.
