Albums That Deserve Another Listen
The Fugs - Golden Filth (Live At The Fillmore East 1968)
On the Fugs' first recordings the sound and execution was pretty primitive. However, by the time of this recording on June 1, 1968 at the Fillmore East, they had evolved into a tight and solid rock band. They had also grown into a large group, totaling ten musicians, which included two drummers, and lead guitarist Ken Pine, a seasoned blues/rock player, who went on to do session recordings with Jimi Hendrix and Stephen Stills.

Wow Bob! You don't come across these guys very often. I actually have a couple of their albums but not this one. Thank you, I am looking forward to listening to it.
ReplyDeleteHi Done4it, this is the best Fugs album, a fun album, with good songs well done. Ken Pine on lead guitar really makes the band sizzle.
DeleteA classic, Bob. I was hearing songs from this on KOL FM in 1968 and loving it. Bought the vinyl approx. 1970.
ReplyDeleteYep, it's a good 'un, I've listened to it a couple of times since pulling out it the other day, always enjoy this one.
DeleteThanks so much! ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ
ReplyDeleteI heard something by them early on & dismissed them & never gave them another chance. I'll give this a listen, thanks.
