Today's "Assorted Best Of Jazz" sees the start of a new category "Women In Jazz Vol 01 - Midnight Raven". There have been a couple of all female jazz compilations posted already but they focused entirely on female jazz singers. The "Women In Jazz" series however, presents female musicians, who are relatively few in number compared to the plethora of male jazz musicians.

And commencing today is a new series "The Very Best Of Rhythm And Blues, Raw Blues And Soul Music". Volume 1 brings you 20 great rocking tracks from Albert King, B.B. King, T-Bone Walker, Irma Thomas, Bill Dogett, Jackie Wilson, The Isley Brothers, and many more Blues & R&B greats.

And also starting today is a new feature of the blog called "Bob's Basement". You'll find the link at the top right hand side. Like the basements & the fill & make requests pages on many blogs, it's a forum for all of you to participate if you so wish. Do any of you have any wants or requests? Then this is the place. And when anyone requests something then anyone can feel free to post a link and fill that request. If anyone has anything they want to share, then go for it, post it here in Bob's Basement. All musical genres are welcome. All I ask is please be respectful of getting albums from other blogs and sharing them here, especially from blogs that request their members refrain from sharing elsewhere.
