Today we have reached Volume 101 in the series 'The Best Of Blues, R&B, Soul & Gospel', which is the final volume in this current series. Finishing the series off are 20 tracks dating from 1946 to 2018, by Arthur Alexander, Jimmy McCracklin, Meredith Howard, Bobby Taylor, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Cousin Leroy, Otis Hinton, Irene Wiley, and a few other fine artists.
And 'Soul Party Volume 21 - Here Comes The Judge' serves up 22 great soul recordings from Larry & Tommy, Aaron Collins, Mary Love, Solomon Burke, Oliver Sain, Beatrice Lee, and many other not so well known soul performers.
Tomorrow we'll start the first in a new 30 Volume series titled 'The Very Best Of Blues, R&B, Soul & Gospel Recordings'. It will be much the same as the previous series with an assortment of the best in blues, R&B, Soul & Gospel recordings.
Also starting from tomorrow are new batches in the 'Assorted Best Of Jazz', 'Assorted Hillbilly & Country Recordings', 'Rockabilly & Early Rock & Roll Recordings', and the 'Soul Party' series. I've discontinued the 'Country Blues' series and started a completely new series titled 'The Best Of Country, Pre-War & Acoustic Blues', this is a more broader category that will allow for the inclusion of acoustic-style blues singers who didn't really belong in the 'Country Blues' series.
And today's photos is a promotional photo of B.B. King in the 1950s holding a double neck guitar/mandolin. Named “The ManVer”, it was originally built by Lyn Vernon and Sid Manker in Memphis and later sold to B.B.
