Thanks Bob,
ReplyDeletequite a musical picture painted here. In a work of art every dot of paint makes up the whole to provide something of wonder and interest. Just so with your comps. Hugely famous folk to relative unknowns combine to make this series one of great interest and much appreciated. Pine Bluff Pete, what was his real name? Apparently he was running errands during one of Art Rupe's sessions. Rupe said "when it was felt the other singers couldn’t perform effectively any more because of alcohol, fatigue, or both, Pine Bluff Pete asked to record. He looked like he could use the recording fee, and everybody was feeling good, so we recorded him". They didn't even bother to find out his real name!
Thanks for the info Albert. Yes, he was certainly an unknown, no real name, no photo that I'm aware of, just 4 tracks recorded in 1952.
