ReplyDeletemoze I recently got hold of a dozen albums of rare hillbilly boogie, the tracks are all in a folder waiting their turn in one of my compilations, so there are loads more coming, what you have been given so far is just the tip of the iceberg.
DeleteThanks for this one. ... By any chance, can someone help me with this album: https://www.discogs.com/release/4406542-Blue-Mountain-Express-No-Grass-But-Bluegrass ... Thanks in advance. All the best, Maren
ReplyDeleteHi Maren, I checked my master lists and I don't have that particular album.
DeleteI'll listen to Hank Williams any day of the week and all the others are icing on the cake!!!!!! Much Appreciated, Mike.
ReplyDeleteYes Mike, I'm a big fan of Hank, in particular his blues and gospel recordings. He was a superb blues singer.
DeleteDon't forget Luke the Drifter if you're researching Hank Williams' Gospel..... and in the back of my mind I'm thinking (could be wrong) Hank Williams Jr. did some recordings as Luke the Drifter Jr.
ReplyDeleteI'm particularly fond of the gospel songs Hank did with his wife Audrey.

ReplyDeleteGood one Bob, thank you. This one even has a couple of my dear old departed Daddy's favorite songs, gonna go and listen to both of them now.
Enjoy! Done4it...sounds like your dad had good taste.
DeleteYep, nothing but country music for him. The only non country song he liked was Daydream Believer by The Monkees. Go figure eh?
ReplyDeleteMy old man was a Scotsman, so I grew up hearing pipe bands. The Monkees...a manufactured group, very little talent, nonetheless they did put out many good pop songs. I quite enjoy hearing their songs from time to time.
